Formally Joes Computer Applications & Technology (J-CAT), DATA TO INFORMATION opened its doors in 2002 as a center for ICT Digital Literacy and a hub for Study Abroad programmes. The Center grew in lips and bounds In its service offering and soon ventured into expanding its ICT & Study Abroad programmes.

In its quest to bring closer to the Community/society Training & Certification services that benchmark industrial, Professional & Academic standards – This services could not be accessed locally back then. d2i clientele increased tangentially and in 2007, for the very first time , with expanded collaboration and linkages we were the first to launch the only TOEFL Testing Center, The only SAT Testing Center( Prometric)  as well as Pearson VUE Test Center.-We became a full blown Authorized Test Center (ATC) for  a wide range of academic & professional programmes.

By March 2008, d2i outgrew the “Center tag “ and thus the need for us to expand into a fully-fledged institution of Higher Learning, a process that started in earnest.
Another milestone was achieved and in 2010 , d2i transformed into DATA TO INFORMATION COLLEGE, provisionally registered by then Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology as a TIVET institution Reg. Cert. No. MOHEST/PC/1268/010. Full accreditation was granted in 2012 via accreditation Cert. No. MOHEST/PC/1805/012. With full authority we offered Certificate & Diploma programmes in ICT & Business. In line with the government policy to offer quality in Technical & Vocational Training, d2i was assessed by a team from Technical and Vocational Education & Training (TVETA) and under Section (1) of the TVET Act, 2013. d2i got registered and licensed - Reg. Cert. and Training License No. TVETA/PRIVATE/TVC/0015/2016. In keeping with expanding access to International Education and to regularize our operations, d2i Student Recruitment Agency was granted a License by Commission of University Education (CUE) in accordance with Section 70(1) and 2(f) of University Act No. 42 of 2012 and Part X of the University Regulations 2014, Cert, No. CUE/SRAL/2020/04. The journey continues and we are focused on what we do in expanding access to technical skills through Competency Based Education and Training (CBET) within KNQF Levels Craft, Artisan and Diploma, Professional through TVETA CDACC, which is key to ensuring relevant technical workforce for tomorrow.
